Comments Thread For: Khan: After First Few Rounds, Mayweather Will Win Easy

Amir Khan is hoping to fight Manny Pacquiao in Abu Dhabi later this year, whether he beats Floyd Mayweather or not next month.

Khan has turned his attention to a clash with the Filipino great after becoming frustrated in his efforts for a Vegas fight with Mayweather, a meeting he has been hankering for over the last two years.

According to the Daily Mail, Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum has proposals for a bout against Khan, which could take place in the United Arab Emirates in November or December this year.

The Bolton welterweight takes on Chris Algieri in Brooklyn on May 29 and, providing he comes through that fight, his next outing could be against a man he once enjoyed sparring with.

Does Khan really think Pacquiao is just "another" opponent for Floyd? Please.

Speed and power aside, Pacquiao's foot work and stamina will dictate this fight, or at least makes it a very competitive one. Floyd has never faced anyone with Pacquiao's stamina and foot speed. Floyd, or Ellerbe, mentioned recently that Floyd is going to set the tempo from the outset. I don't think that will happen simply because Pacquiao is not a stationary target unlike most of Floyd's opponents. The only way Floyd can dictate the pace is if Pacquiao stands in front of him and eat Floyd's jabs. So it's going to be difficult for Pacquiao to catch Floyd as it's for Floyd to catch Pacquiao, although it might be somewhat easier for Floyd mainly because Pacquiao will be the aggressor. But being the aggressor doesn't mean Pacquiao will plow straight ahead like a Maidana, Guerrero, Ortiz, Hatton or some of the more stationary fighter who tried to use brute force. Pacquiao usually moves in and out and side to side so I'm not too concerned with Pacquiao being the aggressor which Floyd seems to interpret as "reckless"--Floyd will learn the difference on fight night. Floyd has really quick reflexes so Pacquiao's movement will force Floyd to react rather than to think and Pacquiao will then be able to catch him.

I agree that Floyd is a smart fighter but the thing is you can't let him think, not even for a second. People always talk about not letting Floyd think but who actually can do it, no one so far. The closest is the Maidana types where they try to corner Floyd and throw a barrage of punches. The problem with that is once the barrage is over it's back to Floyd pop shotting again and picking his opponents apart because they expended so much energy that they become stationary again. Pacquiao throws a barrage of punches but he moves much more after he throws.

I know Pacquiao will have superb stamina come May 2nd. Pacquiao will need to move, move, and move to put pressure and discombobulate Floyd.

Fighting a guy who has just been knocked from pillar to post down numerous times and not winning a single round is not any preparation for even talking about Manny. Khan feeds off these top names and chooses to fight light welterweights so as to stay safe and expects to be taken seriously. If Khan is not careful he will f.uck what's left of his carrer up completely .He just thinks he can hang around but the longer he does the more of a joke he becomes .Nobody in the game takes him seriously as it is , this lad is just an embarrassment.
Fight some body idiot, stop running and shouting , it's very poor ....even from you !

Khan is not a bad guy, but he can't even predict his own fights!

Then again, on the scorecard he almost did better than Mayweather against Maidana.

You're right Amir, we should cancel this May 2nd farce... you're the true warrior deserving to face Floyd
