  • Comments Thread For: “Pinoy Pride” Series Will Returns To Dubai on June 12th

The highly successful “Pinoy Pride” series returns to Dubai on Philippine Independence Day on June 12 with a fight card headed by the talented and popular Pagara brothers Jason and Prince Albert and exciting Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo.

“Pinoy Pride 31” will be held at the World Trade Center in Dubai where the last staging on September 5, 2014 resulted in a turn-away crowd that had lined up for hours to buy tickets.

ABS-CBN consultant for sports Peter Musgni who is in Dubai with ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told the New Standard/BoxingScene.com that the June 12 fight card will be held at a bigger hall at the World Trade Center.

Does anything make sense over there? They keep cheetahs for pets there.

Also this is probably their gift to all the filipinos who work as maids/servants for them.

They're hard working people who work and sacrifice to support their families overseas. You dumbwit don't understand that coz you're just waiting for your food stamp and gov't check.

            Pretty much.

Anyway, ALA seriously needs to start trying to lockdown some worthy names for their fighters. I understand it can't be done every time out but atleast once a year. Their fighters hardly ever get massive exposure because they hardly ever face any decent names. The Pagara bros should be challenging themselves at this point but instead they are constantly kept on an all bum diet.

They have some deep talent, however aside from Nietes, they all fail on the bigger stages. From Banal, Bautista to Melindo, Fuentes and Pagara himself.. They have all failed when stepping up to decent/good competition. Talented young fighters but their growth is often hindered by their level of opposition.

I'm excited about Magsayo and his career though, perhaps one of the countries best young fighters. Strong, fast and crafty. Bright future for Mark.

Aside from one negative comment, I fail to see all the racism going on in the thread. Then, to make matters worse, you retaliate with stereotypes and calling out a country that has zero involvement in this topic

Filipinos are hard working people, we get it. However, it's no secret that many of the OFW's living and working in Dubai are indeed maids. Who else would attend this 2nd installment of Pinoy Pride in Dubai other than the OFW's themselves? Anyway, lighten up. Mexicans get their fighters called gardeners, fruit vendors, etc... But you don't see them up in arms, launching verbal assaults at everyone. At the end of the day you give power to those that upset you. Ease up
