Chavez Sr. lost a split decision against Randall and was deducted 2 points so it made more sense to state he believed he was ahead. However, Jr. suffered first KD in 52 fights and he most likely was dizzy at the moment of the interview so he kept saying BS. I think he lost his leg support at the KD (somehow was able to finish the round) but when he sat he didn't feel the legs (as he expressed to his corner) and he decided to abandon.
