  • Ruslan Provodnikov Appreciation Thread

Great sportsmanship all around, touching gloves, congratulating the Machine after the fight, apologizing to his countrymen for not winning, even if that was 100% not needed given the great fight he just did.
Sure, he's one dimensional, and cant do much besides come forward, but the guy has the most solid chin in boxing, punches like a beast and has the heart of an elephant.

He still hasn't been defentively beat, and as long he isn't fighting a faded corpse or track star I'll always be willing to watch.

Hell yea man. Ruslan is a true warrior, he doesn't fight dirty and he never quits. I just wish he didn't get hit as much as he does, that can't be good for his health down the road. Maybe 1 or 2 more easy fights and call it a day, he's probably made decent money to live a comfortable life back home in his village.

Ruslan is a damn warrior! He may not be the most skilled or the smartest, but damn is he entertaining. Hopefully he retires soon though, he takes A LOT of damage

I will always root for Provo, guy has the heart of a lion, when he hurt Mathysse in the 11th round I was going crazy, but he lost in the end and I am not sure where he goes from here. He also took a lot of punishment, and while he is tough as nails there is a limit to how much punishment the body can take, hopefully he fights a soft touch in his next one.

Definitely one of the most likable guys in the sport. When he apologized to his country after the fight I felt sad, and it made me like him more than I already did. Had there been a couple more rounds he may well have pulled it out. He just got off to a bad start tonight.

Dude is a warrior. Matthysse put a beating on the guy and he kept coming and rocked him in the 11th.

I didn't think he'd be there at the end, but he was and barely took a backward step in the 12 rounds. Huge ticker, no quit in him.

Ruslan earned allot of respect from me tonight. He's a real warrior. To be cut early in the fight like that, against an elite power puncher. To go all 12 rounds and come close to taking the fight. Shows he has the heart of a lion. You see his face after the fight? He too a hell of a beating and came through it.

                  Respect

Wasn't just there, he tried to win and actually had Matthyysee in trouble in the 11th (or 10th?) and hesitant to exchange. Yeah he got the snot beat out of him but he puts all on the line. Biggest heart in boxing perhaps.

he always goes out with his heart out. What a guy. Supremely likable. Hopefully he saves his money and retires soon though. Takes too much punishment.

Compare him to Chavez jr today
