I had it 9-3 Lucas. Lederman was was giving Ruslan pity rounds for not getting completely destroyed and landing some big shots of his own.

I had it 8-4 Matthysse. I agree with you. Harold Lederman always follows the Jim Lampley/Max Kellerman script when judging a fight.

It's one of those fights you really need to remind yourself it's about individual rounds and who won each round, not by how big someone won a round.

What I mean by that is Lucas BEAT THE **** OUT of Ruslan in the rounds he won, but it's still a 10-9 round regardless. Ruslan won a couple close rounds, and then came on strong really late and made the fight close. So yes the fight actually was close on the scorecards. But Lucas won big in the rounds he won (which again is still 10-9 regardless if he whooped his ass that round or if it was a close round). If you're not keeping score, I could see how someone would think Matthysse dominated because of those reasons. But you keep score of individual rounds and it was close.

For the record I thought Matthysse won by a round or it could have been a draw.

Some of the rounds when Lucas backed to the ropes his body language was poor but he wasn't getting hit, some people go crazy just for that.

The Announcers should stay out of the ***ing way and call what the see in he ring for BOTH FIGHTERS! I don't like how guys like Lampley and Kellerman try so hard to make things more Dramatic than they really are

You never heard the expression of stealing rounds? Many fighters made a living doing that (Leonard for example was a master of it).

If a round is relatively close, neither doing a whole lot, then one fighter really turns it up a notch last 20-30 seconds, that's easily going to win a round. I thought Ruslan stole a couple rounds myself. That is on Matthysse - you should never put yourself into the position of allowing your opponent to steal rounds!

As for the HBO crew, I don't have a clue what they were saying, way too much yelling and screaming where I was watching, couldn't hear any comments at all.
