Kelly Pavlik was taken into police custody on Saturday after an alleged brawl at a Foo Fighters concert in Ohio, according to television station WKBN.
The report, citing anonymous sources, said Pavlik was “heavily intoxicated.” The former middleweight champion has been released on a summons to show up in court at a future date, the article said.
Online court records do not yet list anything for this alleged incident.
Last year, Pavlik pleaded guilty to a pair of charges dating back to 2013 — one was to a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, the other was to a count of disorderly conduct in a case stemming from Pavlik allegedly refusing to pay a taxi driver $25 home after a ride home from a bar. I wouldnt be surprised if Pavliks version of events turns out to be correct.
It wouldnt be the first time heavy-handed police turned up and caused a problem or made a false arrest.Comment

I became a fan of boxing around 08 and I remember Pavlik being one of the guys to talk about. I remember reading an article about him in either SI or ESPN after the second Taylor fight. I remember reading about how people thought he would literally nearly kill an old mid 40s Hopkins. I never actually got to see the great fighter live with my own eyes, only sad comeback fights. When I read these article my heart weeps because I'm always reminded of how young he is. Even after everything he's only 33. Screw getting sober and coming back to boxing, I hope he can sort things out just to be a father and heck at 33, just a son. Hopkins is literally old enough to be his dad. My heart goes out to him and his family.Comment
