One of my favorite boxing documentaries.

I love Wladimir's cheating to be honest. Highly successful, any way to win kind of attitude. YOLO.

When you're fighting 17 stone men, one punch can change a whole fight, they don't choose to bore anyone, they are boxing effectively like Mayweather does. Wlad is the technician whereas Vitali just beats you down.

****ing Don King trying to pretend he's actually playing the piano when they went to visit him [/QUOTE]

      Haha that bit was hilarious

I don't think anyone dislikes them as people but more as boxers. Vitali was actually entertaining to watch, Wlad is boring as hell. I watched a few of Vitali's earlier fights and all I could do is shake my head, he had such great potential but wasted it. I thought he could have ended up passing Lewis but his lack of interest in the sport and his injuries did cost him. Wlad is an overachiever, gotta give the guy credit. he was beaten up by journeyman but resurrected his career and covered his faults pretty well for a fuccking decade!

I watched this a couple of years ago when on a plane.
I was cream crackered when I sat in my seat, turned on the wee telly & thought I'd watch it & drift off. Totally woke me up. It was class.

I don't think many people hate them on legitimate grounds, I have always liked Vitali as a fighter since Lewis, he proved himself in that fight, in spite of the result or how you perceive it may have gone after 6 rounds. Wlad...I have never been as convinced simply because my feeling deep down is that if he ever stepped in with a A Level heavyweight that he would fall short, his vulnerabilities would get exposed.

I think he has a style which shines against smaller or heavyweights lacking athleticism. I think the only time he has been in with a A/B level fighter is David Haye and I would argue that while Haye was probably a A-/B+ Cruiserweight, I don't think he was ever more than a solid B level heavyweight. I was impressed with that win nonetheless because Wlad beat a good fighter and showed good footwork.

The main problem I think most people have with the Klitschko's is without a doubt they're FANS. They try and big them up (especially Wlad) and devalue previous heavyweights and heavyweight era's because of the above paragraph, because Wlad has not really beaten a top class heavyweight they feel forced to defend his resume with false comparisons and try and make the current heavyweight scene seem better than it is and better than previous era's based on fighter size and advancements in nutrition and try and make people like Chris Byrd and other opponents world beaters when everyone else knows that it is a bunch of utter garbage. They almost live in their own parallel universe and try and create their own history. I think though that the bubble will burst before he retires, and he will most likely take another KO loss against someone like Fury or Wilder, again would just stress in my opinion probably B level heavyweights but are a similar size so can probably get to Klitschko. The other problem as Daggum pointed out, he wins by using lots of illegal tactics to protect his weaknesses, he has to, because he has massive holes in his game.

Saying all that he is sure fire hall of fame, and I think a legitimately great heavyweight who would have destroyed lots of great heavyweights using some of his best attributes like his jab, speed, footwork, and devastating power. He is a flawed great fighter, not the first and certainly not the last.

Yep, very good documentary - and the reason it is good is because it shows the lows as much as the highs. It doesn't attempt to whitewash the negatives and the hard moments, and the story being told without a narrator but by the brothers and other individuals involved worked really nicely. The use of archive was excellent, especially the early life of the brothers and also you can see their relationship with their parents. RIP the father also who untimely died due to his work clearing the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl...you can see that hit Vitali.
