Comments Thread For: Provodnikov Warns: No One Can Stop My Will To Win

Former world champions Ruslan Provodnikov and Lucas Matthysse have vowed to produce "the fight of the year" this weekend.

The two light-welterweights meet in New York on Saturday on their latest step back towards world level in the wake of title defeats.

Argentine Matthysse lost his WBC belt to Danny Garcia in September 2013, while Chris Algieri took the WBO version from Provodnikov 10 months ago.

But fireworks are widely expected this weekend, and Provodnikov is predicting a "fight of the year" contender - a bold claim with the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao 'fight of the century' just a fortnight away.

A Matthysse bomb can and probably will. He ruins fighters. everyone he fights.

But a one eyed Algieri, a concussed Bradley and a feather fisted Herrera. I scored all those fights and Bradley won by a point, Algieri by two and the Herrera fight could have went either way.

It's not your will I'm worried about. It's your face. I think this is a 50-50 fight though.

He might not be the best boxer, but he is fun to watch. No one has dominated him, as all 3 losses were very close. If this fight doesn't ruin him, maybe he can get better with Roach. If not I'll still watch.

I believe it, but that doesn't guarantee a win.

I rate Matthysse the slicker boxer and imo, he'll try to avoid a foty tomorrow.

Why would Lucas trade blows 1 for 1 with a dude that, as a toddler, fought for his daily ration of gruel in a pit in below zero temperatures vs south siberian tiger-wolves?

Matthysse by SD with alot of crying afterward.

I'll be rooting for Provodnikov, however.

                WAR RUSLAN!!

Rios-Alvarado. Lucas' superior boxing ability will net him the victory.
