Comments Thread For: Photos: Matthysse, Provodnikov Shredded For Verona War

In what many are hailing as a potential Fight of the Year candidate, former 140 lb. titlists Lucas Matthysse and Ruslan Provodnikov square off Saturday evening at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York.

Both fighters are ripped and ready, making weight for their highly anticipated war. Matthysse tipped the scales at 139 lbs., while Provodnikov was a shade heavier than his fellow slugger at 139.5 lbs.

Matthysse (36-3, 34KOs) has emerged as a cult favorite in the sport, though amazingly is without a win on HBO. His lone two apperances on the network both resulted in debatable decisions losses, coming up short on the road versus Zab Judah and Devon Alexander. [Click Here To Read More]

Ruslan couldn't handle the staredown. It lasted for 5 seconds, he knows la maquina is coming for his soul.

I can't figure out who's technically taller, Ruslan has higher shoulders but Mathysse has a long neck.
