There you have it the Geale team has no issue with the catch weight. Can everyone else STFU about it now? No because the GGG D*ck Riders club won't have it. Same d*ck wads with the same hate filled comments it's ridiculous. Give it up already, you will get your GGG greatest ever MW crowning soon enough.
Cotto vs Clottey: 146lbs
Cotto vs Pacquaio: 145lbs
Nuff said...i'm sick and tired of this narrative that Cotto was crippled by a single pound. It's nonsense. He took his loss like a man til people started this nonsense excuse and he ran with it. You could go take a proper shhh right now in the bathroom and come out a pound lighter. Had he fought him at 140 I can understand but 12ounces? C'mon. He took the fight, sure wasn't an issue when they placed that contract in front of him, he didn't have to accept it, he was the champion. If it was that much trouble for him to lose 12 ounces he wouldn't have signed it. Funny thing is weight isn't an issue when you are confident you can kick someone's @ss but when it doesn't happen the weight then becomes the reason why.
Let me set the record straight, SMH at people using selective memory to support their arguments.
Look up how weight classes are defined. Last time I checked weight classes are defined by the maximum weight a boxer is allowed to weight and that would be 160 lbs for Middleweight, not 157.
A boxer coming in at 157 because they choose to isn't the same as a boxer being forced to come in at 157
and Cotto's 1 pound weight difference vs Clottey/Pacquiao proves this
vs Joshua Clottey Cotto weighted in at 146 but had to be at 145 vs Pacquiao
and what's funny is for Pacquiao's very next fight, against Clottey he had no catchweight .. so what does that tell you?

yes I'm pretty sure Cotto had to
"the Geale team has no issue with the catch weight"
^ well I wouldn't say that, because they were probably only offered the fight at a catchweight, Geale didn't want to miss out on the Cotto fight, and that meant accepting 157. But I'm sure IF they had a choice, Geale would prefer it at 158 or how about just straight up MW, with the 160lb max?
for what it's worth, Golovkin wiped out Geale in 3 rounds with no catchweight ...... just saying.

That tells you PAC wasn't sure he could compete vs top contenders 10 divisions above his starting weight. But once he blew out Cotto, it was clear he could so he never again requested a CW against a welter
