Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Still Stunned Mayweather Rejected PED Clause

WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao says he is still stunned by Floyd Mayweather's decision to reject a contract clause which called for a $5 million dollar penalty if either of them tested positive for a performance enhancing drug.

Mayweather and Pacquiao are set for action on May 2nd from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. USADA [United States Anti-Doping Agency] is handing the random drug testing protocol.

According to Pacquiao, USADA has already tested him six times.

When the two sides came together to negotiate an agreement in 2009/2010, the deal fell apart because Pacquiao rejected Mayweather's demand for both of them to get randomly drug tested up until the fight.

I wonder if Manny even skims through the contracts that he signs.

I'm still stunned that Pacquiao rejected PED testing during their first negotiations.

I'm stunned Manny walked away from testing to begin with. Next time, put it in the contract.

Shame you didn't accept 50% and USADA testing for the fans in 2010 isn't it Manny? He accepted 40% because that's more than fair atm and he's at the end of his career. This guy is fake as ****.

Yup that's right Manny. PAC knows Floyd has failed a test before, that's probably why PAC wants clauses like these.

So he can take $5 mil for a failed test instead of suing and probably getting 5x that amount?
