I agree that this fight doesn't need a title on the line for the hardcore fans, but for casuals it does.

Cotto fighting Canelo is all people will need to know in order to gain interest in the fight. People are going to watch whether there's titles on the line or not.

Cotto is a total hypocrite. He first said he was in perfect shape for Pacquiao at 145. Then a year later he said making 145 ruined him. He refused a rematch with Pacquiao at 150 saying it was too light for him. Then right after that he tried to get the bigger Margarito to fight him for his 154 pound title at 150 pounds. THE SAME 150 POUNDS HE SAID he couldn't make for Pacquiao. HE ended up fighting Margarito at a catchweight of 153. Catch weight title fights are wrong and they are just as wrong for Cotto as they are for Mayweather or Pacquiao. The boxing commissions and the WBC,IBF,WBO and what ever the 4th one is, should all stop the God damn catchweight title fights. If no world title is at stake then catchweight fights are OK. If Cotto thinks he is too small to figh t middleweights he should drop the title and fight at whatever he thinks is his best weight.

Well he is the A Side at Middleweight as well as Light Middleweight so if they want the big Payday they will have to do what ever it is that he wants and request or else Cotto will have no problem moving on and picking the next opponent because he has that Power

I think Cotto now is the #2 biggest diva in boxing of this generation. He's getting bumped to #1 in September when Floyd retires. Such a shame for someone people call "warrior".

What the **** Cotto, I admire the honesty and not having a bull**** excuse. I really do appreciate that aspect of it, but asking for catchweight when you're already champ... even Manny wasn't a 147 champion, that excuse won't work. I can't defend him, not on this ****. At this point it really does seem like his toying with the title.

I want my favorite fighter to be around for as long as possible (competitively) and GGG ruins him, that's just a reality. As I fan I would like to see him fight Floyd next (he'll win) then Canelo (he'll win) then GGG (he might die.) If he fights Canelo next though and skips Floyd because Manny beat him, that's fine too. His last fight will be GGG and it should be, just go out on his shield and call it a career. Yes, he should vacate if he's going to pull this **** he gets plenty of hate already and I won't join in anymore than this, but I won't bother defending it either. I admire the honesty, not the draining.
