Rafael: Khan - Algieri will be on Spike TV, Barclays Center NY

I had an idea something like this was coming.

Not just Khan giving good ratings, but Algieri is well known enough to be on Premium network at least once more. Showtime could've built it as "Khan fighting a former Pac opponent" regardless of how bad it went for him.

Showtime broadcasted his Julio Diaz fight too, so nothing to do with the match up.

That's what I'm saying.

But it just doesn't seem like Haymon fighters will go on Showtime any more, unless probably for PPV.

I'm sure Khan would get showtime if it was offered to Showtime. Showtime bought Brook-Dan so I can't see why they wouldn't buy Khan-Algieri even though it would obviously be a lot more expensive.

I'll watch and think it's a decent fight on Spike but...

I wish Khans team actually tried and earn a May/Pac fight instead of him feeling it should be handed to him. Not only are there bigger fights for Khan to make a claim he should get the fight but I'd imagine all of them bring more $ to him then fighting Algieri

SO this is a fight between a guy that turned down an IBF ww title fight and an eliminator with Tim Bradley vs a guy who turned down a title fight for the vacant WBO JWW title.

There is a very good chance I do not support this event.

I thought the fight wasn't gonna happen lol. I still don't think it's TERRIBLE but when khan talks like he's on May or pac level then this kind of fight shows how dumb he is

That and the fact he walked away from his highest purse and a world title shot.

Khan probably denied it because the backlash was so bad when he first announced it. I even opened up a Twatter account to give him abuse

Now he's let it seep it and things have calmed down, it will slowly get made official.
