What a joke. Yvon Michel and Al Haymon basically called Lame Events' bluff here. Lame Events thought they could shame Adonis into fighting and get some press out of it if it didn't happen...they didn't realize that Adonis wanted the fight badly all along! Now, when it becomes a CLEAR reality...they back out.

If Kovalev really wanted the fight, Main Events would say screw the IBF belt...let their other fighter in Mohammedi go for it, and make the Stevenson fight next! The winner can then chase that IBF belt if they so desire to be the holder of all belts.

Really...Lame Events has just gotten press out of this, and the media spin has been disgusting.

This is seriously embarrassing. Kovalev should move on and get a bigger promoter. They are essentially turning down the biggest payday possible by ignoring the purse bid and you just know that uncle Al was going to overspend and put this on network TV!
