HBO pulled the plug on this fight. They were all in favor of it, but only if it appears on HBO. Since there is a good chance that Duva would be outbid and the fight could appear on Showtime or PBC. HBO pulled the plug on Duva.

The fight will likely not happen now. I don't think Haymon will allow HBO to dictate the terms of the negotiation of the fight. Stevenson/Chavez is next followed by Stevenson/Lucian Bute and Chavez Froch (possibly). Hopefully, all of these fights will happen this year.

Pretty simple situation to navigate. Duva thought Haymon would pull the same trick he did with Quillen, having him drop the title instead of fighting a forced bid mando, there by allowing Kovolev to fight for a vacant title. They called her bluff now she is trying to save face by saying she is requesting a separate deal with an offer of 50/50 on HBO, knowing full well this will more then likely be turned down. However she can't save face here, because she is voluntarily relinquishing Kovolevs Mando position. So Duva basically secretly requested WBC make Kovolev mando and force a bid, with out including Stevensons people in these discussions, rather than just negotiating in the first place. Now she backs out and attempts to force terms. LMAO you cant make this ish up.

Great post !!! It's funny how happy Duva appeared when the sanctioning body gave notice for a purse bid just to not show up when they realized Haymon was locked and loaded with no plans to vacate .
