Martinez dropped from RING Top Ten MW list

RING have finally dropped Sergio Martinez from their Top Ten rankings. Chris Eubank Jr. has been moved in to the number 10 spot and Andy Lee has jumped up to the number 2 spot, moving Quillin down to number 3. 4 and 5 remain the same and everyone from number 7 to 10 moves up a spot.

Had a good run, wish we could have seen more of him in his prime when guys were ducking him left and right. That Cotto fight scam left a bad taste tough, ripped off his fans for cash. Hell, maybe he needed the money more than he needed his reputation.

I totally forgot about him! Taylor should have been removed when his title was stripped and he was arrested. It's ridiculous that he is still on the list, the guy will never fight again.

That's interesting. He's only been inactive for 10 months. JCC Jr, for example, has been inactive for 13 months and they've ranked him at No.9 for SMW.

Has Sergio officially announced his retirement?

But JCC Jr. at least has a fight scheduled and has had for awhile now. They may have given Chavez a bit of a break due to his promotional problems as well. Martinez has shown no sign of fighting again and likely never will. But as Javi noted, the person who really should be removed from the rankings is Taylor. There's no reason at all for him to still be a ranked fighter.

About time, I guess cuz the year is coming up and they know he won't come back or announce ea comeback fight within the year limit.

Taylor is still on there because he hasn't had a year inactivity yet.... but he went to jail.... sooooooo, i thought they had a rule on that
