I think this is a closer fight than people give credit.
No different than if Stevenson decides to pass on Kovalev and fights Blake Caparello instead (who Kovalev iced in 2)............Last edited by OnePunch; 04-13-2015, 05:37 PM.

Oh yes! My Aussie homie Daniel 'The Real' Geale is going to give Cotto a boxing lesson all night long! Daniel is a strong LEGIT middleweight and a former IBF/WBA champion, let the haters cry as the Aussies fly!

Doesn't GGG have a fight lined up against a slick Cuban style fighter Lee than a month before Cottos fight? I'm sure ggg would like a nice camp for that fight when it gets made.
point is, stop acting like ggg is free because he isn't. He's got a fight lined up as, well and everyone on here knew this was gonna be Miguel's date fight on

Geale has been fighting at 160 for a long time, he'd be weakened by going to a lower weight.
Originally posted by Barcham View PostNot criticizing the fight, I would just prefer another opponent because if Geale beats Cotto, and he has a good chance to do so, it means a replay of a fight GGG has already fought and won convincingly. It will be an interesting fight to see what Cotto can do against someone GGG utterly destroyed in the ring in three rounds. I might actually find myself pulling for Cotto because I have absolutely no wish to see GGG hammer Geale again. It would almost qualify as cruel and unusual punishment to put Geale through that for a second time.
I'm rooting for Geale anyway, I've always been a fan. He never has had his dues, not least when he quit against GGG. I expect he has a lot left in the tank and knows Cotto could be his last pay day if he loses, hopefully it motivates him as he could line up a list of potential fights like a unification vs Lee or vacate and fight for loneage. against Haymon's Jacobs or Quillin, all fights I believe he would or could win, with maybe the exception of Jacobs which would no doubt be an extremely close fight. I simply have no desire to see the Golovkin fight. K2 don't pay adequately for the risk of facing a guy coming in the weight he does come fight night. Besides I want to see him in competitive fights not handed middle weight after middle weight fighter, when he is clearly too good for the division. The sooner he moves up the better, I'm tiring of his one sided fights, waiting for him to cash out of the divison.

Geale won't get his dues or respect even though this is an awesome fight.

Geale could vacate if GGG try's to low ball him like all his other opponents. If GGG wants the green belt he may have to contest it as a vacant belt, Geale can take his lineage and fight anyone he chooses.

Stfu. Have you ever actaully seen Geale fight apart from against GGG ?
As for the lineage, it is worth absolutely nothing without a belt to go with it.
By the way... GGG doesn't 'low ball' anyone. He has nothing to say about the amount of the purse in his fights. That is negotiated by his promoter and the network.
