Comments Thread For: Donaire Approached To Face Quigg, He's Ready To Go

Former multi-division champion Nonito Donaire returned to the ring last month with a 2nd round stoppage of William Prado in the Philippines. The win was Donaire's first ring appearance since his October knockout loss to Nicholas Walters.

The 32-year-old Donaire said he was happy to fight in his native Philippines and that he was pleased with his overall performance. He wants to increase the quality of his opposition in his next fight.

"It was good. We had a lot of people show up to watch. We did the game plan this time and executed it. We just have to rise up the opposition. I felt good at the weight," said Donaire.

Donaire back down at super bantam? I'm not sure, can he make it? I he moved back down, according to the article but how fit and strong will he be against a live opponent?

If Donaire can come in fit and strong, then he outpoints Quigg.

Donaire is a fading fighter but he is a once great fading fighter and there is a vast gap between him and someone like Quigg.

Donaires last fight was at 122. I think I recall reading he struggled to make weight, but he made it nonetheless.

You do realise that Donaire is a much more lucrative fight than Rigondeaux? This would be some coup if Hearn pulls it off and surprising too.

Honestly, I think Donaire knocks Quigg out.

They're all talking about each other, and ignoring El Chacal's call-outs. Sad..
