Ring girls: Important tradition or antiquated sexism?

I noticed their absence in the last PBC event.

I never really saw a problem with them, but my wife absolutely detests the practice and has convinced me that they are offensive to female boxing fans (as well as female MMA fans).

Is it time to finally put an end to the use of ring girls in fighting sports?

Your wife (any woman for that matter) has no right to tell other woman to be or to not be a slut. If a girl wants to be a hoochie and show her **** I'm not going to make her life choices for her. Neither should your wife. That being said, when I watch boxing I don't even think where are the ring girls, I watch boxing like a trainer looking for pro's/con's to exploit from each fighter.

I'll put it this way, I wouldn't go out of my way if I was a promoter to pay a ring girl because I feel it's just trashy and unnecessary. However, I would never tell a girl or a promoter to NOT do it.
