Americans have pretty much stopped winning gold medals in the last 25 years so they're much rarer now. Only when the Eastern Europeans/Russians/Kazakhs get more prominent will we start to see them again.

Americans have pretty much stopped winning gold medals in the last 25 years so they're much rarer now. Only when the Eastern Europeans/Russians/Kazakhs get more prominent will we start to see them again.

Pretty much what I thought but outside of the UK amateurs turned pros, we don't really see Eastern Europeans, most of them hovering around cruiser and heavyweight, fighting each other. They just wait to get into the top 10 and then get a shot at Wlad. It's been happening for a decade now.
