Comments Thread For: Video: Peterson's Trainer of How Garcia Fight Played Out

Bill "Two Scoops" Emes catches up Barry Hunter, trainer of IBF junior welterweight champion Lamont Peterson, to discuss their twelve round majority decision loss to WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia from Saturday night in the Premier Boxing Champions headliner at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Hunter talks about the game plan against Garcia, thoughts on how the fight played out, staying at junior welterweight or going up to welterweight, whether or not he felt the game plan worked out as planned, whether he felt Peterson gave away too many of the early rounds, whether or not Garcia was able to do any real damage, and more.

I say Peterson didn't give away the rounds, he threw a constant jab, and even landed clean right hands, while making Garcia miss. Only 1/2 round you could say he might've given away, but thats really it.

When they boxed, Garcia got out boxed, when they slugged, Garcia got out slugged.

that it, there wasn't one thing that Garcia did better than Peterson. nearly impossible to have Garcia winning this fight.
