Broner couldn't starve himself to make those weight classes anymore, where he was beating up midgets mind you. Also, they were watching the Alexander fight and thought Maidana would be easy pickings for Broner. They didn't realize how mediocre Broner really was and that Maidana probably had an off-night against Devon. Garcia might be a joke as well who's had just as many gift decisions as Broner, but at least he's stepped up against solid competition many times. First and only time Broner has stepped up he got his ass handed back to him. They're gonna keep Broner protected until they can feed him to the right guy, probably Errol Spence Jr.
