Comments Thread For: Maidana: If I Face Danny Garcia, Nobody Will Save Him!

Former welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31KOs) is ready to greet Danny Garcia (30-0, 17KOs), who appears to be moving up to 147-pounds by the end of the year.

Maidana has been out of the ring since last September's rematch decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Garcia came back last night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where he gutted out a twelve round majority decision over Lamont Peterson.

Even prior to the Peterson fight, Maidana beat the drum for a showdown with Garcia.

Garcia still holds the WBC/WBA world title at junior welterweight. His last two fights have taken place over the division limit and he says the catch-weight limit of 143-pounds for Peterson was a hindering factor in his performance. He sees no reason to remain at 140-pounds.

Along with Guerrero, I think Maidana is the only top 10 welterweight Fanny has a good chance of beating.

          WAR CHINO doe!

Maidana has talked about retiring for the longest time which is not a good sign. If he could get motivated fully, I'd pick him to win by a beat down.

No way, Danny won't fight Chino. Look what Herrera and Peterson did to Danny's face, imagine how f**k up would end against Chino...
