BROOKLYN - Premier Boxing Champions on NBC returned with two exciting bouts Saturday night as Danny "Swift" Garcia (30-0, 17 KOs) defeated Lamont Peterson (33-3-1, 17 KOs) by majority decision and "Irish" Andy Lee (34-2-1, 24 KOs) and Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin (31-0-1, 22 KOs) fought to a split draw at Barclays Center.

In the first main event, Quillin scored a huge knockdown in the first round and followed it up by putting Lee on the canvas in round three. Lee made adjustments as the fight went on and began to box Quillin effectively, even putting him down in the seventh round.

Lee and Quillin landed almost the same percentage of punches with Lee connecting on 38 percent and Quillin on 39 percent. One judge scored the bout 113-112 for Lee with another scoring the bout 113-112 for Quillin and the final had a score of 113-113. [Click Here To Read More]

It was a pretty good fight I would like to see a rematch. I didn't give point in every rounds so I don't know exactly but the draw seems fair to me I was a bit surprised that in a fight like this (where it can go either way) they didn't give the W to the hometown fighter but kudos to them.

Quillin is very strong. He has good power . He needs to be more aggressive though. He could punish guys more if he let his hands go.

Quillin did a little better than I thought he would and Andy a little less than I though he would. The fourth round knock down cost Lee the fight, but he got caught good with first knock down. I doubt there's a rematch.

What were their rehydration weights? I remember seeing Peterson & Garcia blowing up to 165 (with clothes on) and 157, but I don't recall Quillin & Lee.

Quillin had the skills, and Lee had the heart hence the stalemate. Neither could put his stamp on the fight enough to win it. Fair result really, I wouldn't want to see it again personally. Neither are on the level of GGG, if those guys are top/world/elite level what level is Golovkin strato elite ?

Decent fight, I thought Lee edged him, Quillen gave away a lot of rounds because of inactivity, he was clearly exhausted after the seventh, if he had trained better obviously it wouldn't have been an issue.
Something has to be done about the atrocious commentary team. Marv Albert calls everything like it's the NBA and Leonard, who was never great behind the mic, sounded confused and disillusional Saturday night. The whole thing felt like it was set up to be a pro-Quillen call, from the commentary to Farhoods sketchy scoring.
