Comments Thread For: Khytrov Aims To Work His Way To Gennady Golovkin

Last night, as part of the ShoBox televised tripleheader from the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, undefeated power-punching middleweight Ievgen “The Ukrainian Lion” Khytrov (10-0, 9 KOs) was taken the distace for the first time in winning a strong eight round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Aaron “Heavy Metal” Coley (9-1-1, 6 KOs).

In preparing for this fight, Khytrov trained in Big Bear and spent some time with middleweight king Gennady Golovkin.

“The atmosphere training in Big Bear was amazing. It was one of the best training camps I’ve had. I’ve never been through a camp in the amateurs like that," Khytrov said.

Under Haymon he'll be working his way towards a PBC belt against Danny Jacobs.
