Yes he did, but coming back against an active champion after that layoff at his age was completely unrealistic. Look what happened when Hatton when he tried to come back against a medicore guy like Senchenko; he couldn't hang for 12 with a guy that has been active, period.

But just because Oscar cant beat that absolute top-tier champions doesnt mean he cant fight fights that people want to see and are winnable. Coming back against someone else who was retired like Trinidad or Margarito wouldnt be so risky, and then he could think about fighting guys like Chavez Jr or even Martinez.

I think that the matchups are there and people would like to see it. Just my two cents.

Senior Boxing...let all the 40 year old and ups only fight each other, make their bouts only 6-8 Rounds. Let the WBC make a Senior WBC World Champion Belt Make it similar to Golf and the Senior PGA Tour.

Get Oscar, Mosley, Morales guys who can't compete with the young guys anymore but can still fight and make a paycheck

I think this is a brilliant idea! That way we wouldn't see the sad sight of shop worn fighters getting blasted out by young, active guys.

Oscar Dela Hoya vs Shane Mosley 3 would draw a lot of attention, can be a good 10 round fight but I think Mosley would win cuz he's always in shape and always sparring even after he retired, I bet Dela Hoya didn't even run half a mile since his retirement in 2008.
I would pay to see a 10 round rematch between Trinidad and Dela Hoya, they're both not so old (42 years old).
If Oscar gets in good shape he can be competitive against some guys out there in the 154 lbs division, Oscar can put on a good fight against slow guys like Angulo and Tapia, also the loser of Trout vs Mundine could be a good opponent for Oscar but I don't know if it's worth the comeback financially.

You don't seem to realize how hard training for and fighting in main event fights is. When you had a long career of it you might not want to go back to it. There is the risk of brain damage that increases when you are older. Oscar was not one of those fighters who aged well. He can't fight that well any more. Chavez would beat the hell out of him. Osacar is the smart one while guys like Hopkins who are rick fight when the shouldn't. It may catch up with them. Floyd Paterson seemed fine and then all those fights he had in his old age caught up with him and killed him. One hard fight too many can ruin a guy. Oscar is ****** rick and his company only needs his guidance not his participation as an active fighter.
