Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (48-1-1, 32 KOs) has closed his training camp and now counts the day until April 18th, when he faces Polish light heavyweight Andrzej Fonfara (26-3, 15 KOs) at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.
Last year, Chavez Jr. was close to a deal where he would have faced Gennady "GGG" Golovkin at the super middleweight limit of 168. The fight didn't happen because Chavez claims his former promoter, Top Rank, had a clause in the bout agreement which bound him to their company for a few more fights.
