Felix Cora Jr. Contender or Pretender?

i was very impressed by this guy last night.

he is a 6' left handed cruiserweight with excellent boxing skills. doesent look to have great power but puts punches together like a middleweight and seems to have excellent conditioning. he was throwing over 100 punches a round late in the fight against darnell "the ding-a-ling man" wilson.

doubt hes ready for a title shot yet but he def belongs in the top 10 cruiser rankings.

I was impressed by him as well. He was rocked a couple of times, but other than that he was in control. A few more fights against some better opposition, and then he'll be in my top ten.

In the cruiserweight divison any decent fighter is a contender. Friday was a good win for him.

I think he can be a contender, he has solid boxing skills but he needs to hide that chin.I would like too see him fight David Haye.

          Cora

Felix is a very well taught and polished professional prizefighter.
He is in condition and comes to fight every time he enters the ring.
It will take some kind of a fighter to beat him, perhaps a Steve Cunningham.
He will win a version of the World Title, there is no doubt in my mind.
I was impressed with his boxing skills.

He looked really good agienst a dangerious guy. as far as power wise he has good enough power to put guys out but with crisp combos and breaking them down. He looked composed and very skilled and mostly balance in his attack defence and movemnt he will be a champ what is going to dictate how high he climbs whether he can box off the back foot agienst sustained pressure. Does he have enough experiance to realise whos and flaws of good opposition and can he capitalise. These questions will be answered soon as his comp will go up.

Felix has been improving from fight to fight. He doesn't have the power to stop fighters like Bell and Mormeck, but he has the boxing skills to capture a decision victory over guys like that. As far as chin goes, Darnel Wilson can crack, and yes Cora was shaken from time to time, but He didn't go down from the ding-a-ling man's power. Now how will he do when he gets in there with Bell's power, and Mormeck's because like a previuos poster stated, Cora doesn't hide his chin well. With some more quality fights, he will prove his fortitude and ability to be a champion, but right now he is a contender.

He's borderline top-ten. He's definitely a great prospect, and I'd love to see him in the ring with Dale Brown next. That would confirm top-ten status for sure.

                    I like Cora's style

I'm not sure yet where Felix Cora really belongs in the cruiserweight rankings but I like his style, a good mix of outside and inside boxing skills. I saw his fight with Darnell Wilson and saw Cora winning just about every round. Wilson seemed lazy a lot of the time though. Teddy Atlas was talking about how dangerous it was for Cora to fight Wilson on the inside but it didn't look risky at all to me. Wilson looked like he was hardly even trying most of the time, and most of his shots were very soft. Wilson looks strong and bulky but didn't put much on his shots. Cora landed a lot of jabs on the outside and did fine on the inside too without holding at all.

I doubt that Cora is on the level with O'Neill Bell, Dale "Cowboy" Brown, Steve Cunningham, Krzysztof Wlodarczyk [he just got a very good win over Imamu Mayfield] or David Haye yet, but it's hard to say since he wasn't really tested by Wison.
