Tarver would win this one. one thing being Hopkins age and amount of wars that hes been involved in. Tarver is older too, I realize, but has seen far fewer wars than Hopkins. They brought Tarver up slowly and methodically. And when I spoke of wars in the ring it wasnt even counting the ones in the gym. The classic Philadelphia gym wars.

Which is why B-Hop is going to win, B-Hop is way more experienced than Tarver, and has more stamina IMHO.

Its a reasonable opinion. However, I just feel that Hopkins is on the down side of the hill. He peeked a good few years ago. The wars will take alot from a fighter making him transform into an older, slower shell of what he used to be. Tarver on the other hand was slowly brought along. It makes a huge difference.

i think the physical advantages of tarver alone make him a huge favorite in this fight. yes hopkins is experienced but after 3 fights with RJJ everyone should realize that antonio tarver is very disciplined in the ring. regardless of what hopkins weighs in at it will not be a natural weight as it is for tarver, remember how big a deal weight was in the castillo/corrales fight?? why will this be any different, tarver will come in very close to the limit and bhop will probably be 168-170. he will give up 5 pounds and will be carrying upwards of ten pounds he has never carried and he will have to do it for 12 rounds. im very skeptical.

i think B-Hop is going to beat Tarver by UD.

Hopkins is always better conditioned than anyone he fights.

i think that Hopkins is going to pull out all the stops and not play overly cautious.

i think Hopkins has too many trick up his sleeves for Tarver to deal with.

Hopkins is hard to get a clean shot on, Taylor never hit Hopkins with a real clean shot, and he had two fights to do so.

Hopkins is a better inside fighter than Tarver.

i think Tarver is going to gas early in the fight.

Tarver needs someone to trade with him for his assault to be really effective, thats where he always lands the big punch. other than that he usually gets out worked it seems.

Tarver has a hard time looking good against someone ho applies pressure, thats how he got the short end of the stick against Johnson the first time.

if Hopkins is afraid to pull the trigger and not let his hands go, than the fight will definately be in Tarvers favor, Hopkins will never has a chance if he doesn't throw.......but i think since this is going to be his last fight that Hopkins is going to let it all out in this one.....

Hopkins is hell bent on beating a light heavy weight, it's funny, his first fight was at light heavy and now his last fight is going to be a light heavy. first fight a loss at light heavy, will his last fight be a loss at light heavy?

thats intersting, hadnt thought of it that way. im not gonna dispute the rest of the things you said but i believed for a lot of the same reasons he was gonna beat taylor and he didnt. so im gonna go with tarver on this one and bhops gonna have to make me believe again.

If hopkins keeps it inside and keeps tieing up tarver i think hopkins will win by decision in 12. On the other hand if he stays outside Tarver may knock him out. I feel Tarver needs room to throw his punches and as long as Hopkins smothers his punches and ties him up then he should be able to win.
