Lamont Peterson has an impressively lengthy beard — he’s been growing it since about September 2014. He may not have it by the time he steps into the ring against Danny Garcia on Saturday night.
“Last time I came here with a beard and they made me cut it. It’s no big deal,” he said. “I just grow it for training because it’s comfortable and easy to maintain. I don’t have to keep running to the barbershop getting a haircut.”
Besides his literal beard, Peterson will have his figurative beard tested against Garcia’s power. Peterson knows how important a victory will be for his career should he top Garcia in the main event of “Premier Boxing Champions” on NBC.
