His legs are shot, doesn't matter if he was running for the first three rounds, he couldn't keep it for the next 9 rounds, so he clinched.

For much of the pre-fight promotion, Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach has made numerous statements about his firm belief that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is physically declining. On May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Roach's star fighter Manny Pacquiao will face Mayweather in a WBO/WBA/WBC welterweight unification mega-match.

Roach has been studying tapes of Mayweather and says the undefeated fighter is no longer able to move as he once did several years ago.

"His legs are shot. He can't move anymore. That's why he goes against the ropes, to get a breather. He says he's trying to make the fights more exciting for the fans, but all of that is bull****. He's never cared about the fans. He can't move those legs," Roach said.

The thing I hate is Jr gets away with Cheap shots. I know in my heart he will cheap shot Pac if Pac out of sportsmanship wants to touch gloves thru the fight.

Yea the only saving grace for that performance was that he would have to redeem himself by fighting Pacquiao the subsequent year. To take a re-match with someone (who I really like) the likes of Maidana, Floyd should have annihilated him. Maidana is dog slow. It's one thing to admit you've slowed down. And it's another to say you are still at the top of your game and will go for the KO against Maidana. Floyd after getting caught early was in complete running clinching mode from there on out

This might be the craziest thing Freddie has said yet. He's delusional if he thinks Manny is the same fighter he was 5 or 6 years ago. I think Freddie somewhat lives vicariously through Manny. Seeing his best fighter decline is a reality he doesn't want to face, because he knows when Manny is done so is he.

Sure he'll have other guys he can train, but with his ailing health and the fact that Manny is the best fighter he'll ever have he knows this as as good as its ever going to get. When Manny goes so does Freddie.

I disagree, he himself said that if he sees something about Manny being shot or close to being one, he'll tell him himself and he'll convince him to hang em up.

Even after Manny is long gone, Freddie will still be training new protege. He have lots of them in his gym. Cotto is one fight away from calling it quits as well, but like I said, he have more young blood who he said have great potentials to be a champion. Can he continue to go through rigorous training like he's doing with PAC? I don't think so. Marvin Somodio is he's protege as far as taking over as a trainer, we will see how he handle that position on Mathysse fight against Povotnikov.
