Desperate? Against John Jackson, he landed almost as many power shots throughout the fight, and perfectly set up, and timed that check right hook.

Against Korobov, he was being outboxed, but was not getting beat up, and had actually landed bigger shots, and again, timed, and caught Korobov.

Lee's problem is he doesn't have the natural athleticism, and speed/reflexes to go along with his learned boxing skill. So he gets beat to the punch most of the time. However, with Booth, he's been getting himself in position to set up the right hook at better angles, by fighting on the inside more, and "boxing inside out," rather than just trying to always box off the back foot. Before, he would just load up on right hooks, and they would be easily seen, and caught/blocked.

Quillin most likely beats him to the punch, and lands something big which will stun Lee, and Quillin will follow up and get a ref stoppage.
