Honestly I can't pretend Kell Brook has taken that big of a step back. Porter is barely better than Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin.

As a Kell Brook fan I have to admit this is disappointing. Jo Jo Dan was a mandatory, which is understandable. It doesn't look good when you and your promoter call out several high profile fighters in your division, only to take a seemingly easy fight against an unproven opponent.

Frankie gavin is the king of bums. Rios is a punching bag that lost to alvarado, gifted vs abril and looked horrible vs Chaves. Brook can maybe get to 50-0 if he carries on fighting these bums, 33 down, 17 to go!

Gavin isn't deserving, but it's a decent stay busy scrap if Brook is gonna fight twice this summer..

Heh, damn, I'm actually a huge Khan fan, and don't care much for Brook, who is a closeted ****sexual (was attacked with a machete for making a gay move on some poor, unsuspecting bloke) - but this isn't that terrible of a fight?


Gavin barely lost to Bundu, who is a very tough, legitimate top 15-20 opponent.


I agree Brook had many, many more options he should have pursued after failing to secure Khan for a domestic summer-blockbuster, but Gavin really isn't that bad of a stay busy fght.

Most guys would just sit on the shelf for the second quarter of 2015, and wait till the fall to secure their desired opponent, rather than take a legitimate, top-domestic level guy.
