I'd love to see this actually happen. I've assumed that Haymon will keep Wilder away from Wladmir until Wlad retires. I can't picture Wilder beating Wlad but he's got the size and the reach to get to him.

It's been a long time since he's been touched on the chin in a meaningful way but most of us know Wlad's beard is not exactly made of steel.

Skill-wise I think Wilder is probably still several steps behind Wlad, I have yet to watch a Wilder fight and not think his legs look really odd. It hasn't been an issue yet but Wilder never seems well balanced on his feet. Wilder is athletically gifted beyond measure though, it could maybe be enough?

Deontay shut up a lot of heads, fool can punch and keeps improving fight after fight. Let him get at least another fight in and go strate for Wlad. As long as Wilder can stuff a stiff jab out, and keeps his stamina up and improves on conditioning he will spark Klits out.

Exactly. Wilder is not in a hurry to defend his title. He's taking his time, smiling, laughing, getting invitations from ESPN, make a few comments here and there... nothing to indicate they were in serious negotiations with Fury, who he's been calling out. I think he's gunning for one fight a year deals now. Believe it or not, he fought five times back in 2012 fighting bums, then four the following year...

Thing is, Wilder will try to rush Wladimir with his long fast hard shots.. Quite wildly!

When Wladimir is faced with a longer opponent like Wilder, he doesn't initiate clinches nearly as much and punch quality wins him the fight.

Wladimir's superior abilities in this regard will catch Wilder as he comes in and I see no way Wilder could survive the crushing flush power for long that Wladimir will deliver should he employ such a tactic.

Looking into my crystal ball, I say Wladimir KO's Wilder early.

                    AND

In the event Wilder shows up measured to box (unlikely), he may survive longer and force Wladimir to dissect him with the jab. This might make for a rather boring affair, but one in which Wilder also cannot hope to outbox Wladimir either and would almost certainly end in a KO mid rounds.

Wilder has enough power and other qualities to finish Klitschko. For that reason he stands one of the better chances.

But that's still a fat chance!
