Comments Thread For: Thurman: Mayweather-Pacquiao is Our Super Bowl

Last month, undefeated WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman headlined the debut of Premier Boxing Champions at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He won a dominating twelve round decision over Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero.

Next month, also at the MGM Grand, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will collide in the most lucrative fight in boxing history. The WBC/WBA/WBO welterweight titles will be at stake.

Thurman, because of his title status, will certainly fall in line as one of the potential candidates to face the winner.

      It is our WORLD CUP

It is more like a world cup that happens once every 4 years. A super bowl happens every year and has no more attention than the Americans. This will be like Argentina vs Germany FInal in The World Cup.A world wide Event.

The World Cup ain't so big in the U.S., which is why all U.S. Americans compare it to the Super Bowl.

I would love to see how the U.S. could do against the world in soccer if our best athletes actually played it.

This fight is way bigger than the Super Bowl, it is on the scale of Jesus Christ crucifixion and resurrection, if not more. It is an event of that magnitude that will be always remember in history.

Do we really get a fight of this magnitude every four years ?

How long ago was the last fight of similar standing ?

                    haha

This fight is definitely much bigger than the yearly superbowl.

The yearly superbowl that nobody outside the US is even aware of.

And it is also bigger than a world cup, or even the olympics.

But maybe I would stop short of the crucifixion
