Comments Thread For: Cotto's Adviser: Camp Has Started, Bout Will Be On HBO

WBC middleweight champion Miguel Angel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) officially launched his training camp at the bustling Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles in the build up to his title defense on June 6th in New York, which will be transmitted by HBO

It is expected that Team Cotto will confirm his rival this week. The Argentinian, Sebastian Heiland and Daniel Geale are the favorites.

"Miguel started his preparation as usual with sessions in the morning and one at noon. He's adapting really well as he came to training camp already in great shape,” explained Miguel's legal advisor Gabirel Peñagaricano.

So either Geale or they get a prelim Canelo agreement in place...
    or both.

Ideally the WBC follow their rules

    I'm good with either guy
Also I expect other fights to be made after this.

    Johnson/guy who wasn't picked
K9 finally setting up a fight

this is a pathetic short list of opponents for cotto at this stage in his career, although he obviously just cares about the money because he will get 15 million to fight complete bums. his deal might even be more of a cake walk than mayweathers, because mayweathers opponents have all at least had somewhat of a buzz behind them unlike these shlotzkys

Heiland is a strong guy who can hurt cotto but I think cotto can box his face off and it will be one sided. The geale fight will be a bore.

I'd say it will be geale. Geale tweeted a couple of days ago saying he hopes to announce something soon once his team has locked in an opponent.
