The Ring World Championship vs WBC World Championship

So, I'm on a bit of a quest. I'm trying to rid myself of the alphabet soup going on in boxing currently and want to recognize one true World Champion in each division. I've narrowed my choices down to the WBC championship and The Ring championship mainly because they tend to be the two most respected titles a boxer can hold. The WBC title goes back to the early 60's and has a great history behind it (despite WBC corruption claims) and The Ring has been recognized since the early 20's which makes it the oldest (or one of) boxing titles in existence.

I've ruled out the WBA due to its abundance of ridiculous titles they promote, it's watered their whole organization down, and I ruled out the IBF and WBO due to the fact that they're titles are newer and nobody seems to care about them. As for those championships I've decided not to recognize them at all, but the classic red, white and gold Ring belt and the classic green WBC belts are worth it and while I may choose to recognize both, I'd like to place one above the other. So which should get the higher recognition....? Let's see some votes!
    17
WBC has the most prestigious title in boxing
    29.41%
    5
The Ring has the most prestigious title in boxing
    70.59%
    12

    The poll is expired.

    It's obviously the ring

Leo Santa Cruz has WBC belt

It's just another belt, doesn't signify a champion

So explain why the WBC World Championship is "just another belt".....

Coming into a thread and making a comment like that without explaining your mindset doesn't give your statement a whole lot of credibility, so I'd like to know where your coming from.

It's why Floyd mainly fights for the WBC belts.

The most prestigious thing in boxing is ones reputation or how they do what they do in the ring and how well they do it. It's what keeps one relevant

The WBC is as messy as WBA with their silver and diamond belts. Same thing as regular champs etc. Different wording.

Ring Magazine is owned by a major promotor and is hence biased. It has in many instances in the past, dropped the ball on lineal champions, so there's no equality between Ring and lineal titles.

In other Words Ring Magazine champions and WBC champions is as flawed as the rest. If you wanna follow the lineal championship, go to cyberboxingzone, boxingscene, TNBR.

For me its the lineal title rather than ring or the WBC. WBC has a great lineage but they have gotten just as bad as other sanctioning bodies. The Ring used to be straight up until ODH purchased it and Canelo and Broner were in the top 10 p4p for a couple months.

I just go with the guy that beat the guy.

In the Uk, the ring title isnt really classed as a "world title" , it just says who's the man who beat the man in the division. H
