Mex-Ame vs. Mexican

I understand what you're saying but your list isnt accurate
late 70s you could say salvador, the 80s was the age of chavez sr, as plain and simple, he faded badly in the 90s.
the late 90s and early 00s is the age of barrera and morales, both greatest and more renowned than jmm who has had brief periods of popularity whenever he fights pacman, especially following the ko.
right now canelo is a huge star but he isnt yet a great fighter, maybe one day he will be.
in terms of mexican-americans, apart from DLH, who else has there been?Comment

He already fought Lara, Canelo won that fight but the result was very close that the decision could go either way. Not an impressive win for Canelo.Comment

Mikey Garcia is Mexican-American from California right??
Oscar Valdez and Gilberto Ramirez look promising....Valdez does look a bit 1 dimensional, but he's very very good at that 1 dimension so who knows???Comment

its hard to beat lara and look good, i doubt even floyd can do that ...
if ggg knocks him down it will be due to size difference...Comment

They still have Marco Antonio Periban... He can be the heaviest Mexican champion in history since Ward is giving him a chance at 168 on BET.Comment

mexican fans loved chavez and hated de la hoya because:
1. he was born in the united states, even if their parents are full blown mexican
2. many felt he was trying to be mexican, no joke
3. he beat the crap out of chavez, the mexican hero
as much as mexican american fighters try to be mexican they wont be accepted as true mexicans. thats the reality of it and it goes beyond boxing unfortunately. trust me i know because i dealt with this my whole life, it is what it isComment
