Comments Thread For: BKB Target June Date For Next Card, in Las Vegas

BoxingScene.com has been advised that the third installment of BKB (Big Knockout Boxing) is being targeted for a date in June. The first card was held last August and the latest edition took place yesterday.

Both cards took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on the Las Vegas strip and Las Vegas will also be the host city for the next card. An official announcement regarding BKB is expected in the next couple of weeks.

I don't know about anyone else but I love BKB man lol. I really enjoy the events, I will continue buying the PPVs. I love the presentation, it has a different feel to it. It's boxing but modernized, there's a very intriguing novelty factor to it. I just enjoy the ambience and vibe, very entertaining.

I do have some complaints / suggestions:

    - Up the rounds to at LEAST 10 in Championship Fights, the fights go by too fast (specially considering rounds are only 2 minutes each)

    - The refereeing when it comes to stepping out of the pit is very inconsistent (there is still confusion as to what might be a push caused by a punch and whatnot)

    * There are many instances where you can tell there is still a gray area with some rules

    - Do OVERTIME round like Boxcino if fights ends in a tie, BKB is the perfect type of open source platform that can adapt this seamlessly ... it just fits perfectly with the concept of BKB

    - Direct AUDIO from the fight needs to be louder... 4 microphones hanging from the ceiling yet you can barely hear the punches / ALSO you can't hear the corners which I would like to

    - Color the respective corners so the fighters know where to go once the rounds end / They can change the light below the platforms that go up and down

    - Clean the pit before the PPV starts, very dirty lol (Kinda ****** but it does take away from the modern / sleek look they are going for)

    - Better talent (I can let this slide for now since they have been trying to get recognized fighters to be part of it, I have seen the effort)

Those are off the top of my head, the ones that stood out the most for me.

Regardless, I really enjoyed the event. It's just very fun to watch. I really hope they continue developing because I see the potential, it'll be very exciting to see how it evolves. They got my support.

I enjoyed it as well, and I pretty much agree with every suggestion you made, especially the one about the knockdown confusions, and the extra rounds for a championship fight. The Rosado Stevens fight felt like it went by too fast. Great show though I ll def re order.

BKB has a TON of potential. it is both entertaining for casuals and hardcore fans. but i agree that it needs to work on a few things if it really wants to skyrocket to the top. but as of right now it definitely delivers what it promises which is high intensity action packed fights. they can't always get the KOs, but that shows how tough the people they got are.

ya i like the idea of it. it gives brawlers/ fringe contenders a chance to continue to be relevant and put on great fights im a fan of the idea myself but its not for every fighter thats for sure.

I like it, but they have to revamp the rules a bit, freaking 7 2 minute rounds have to go, need to make it 15 rounds 2 minutes.

also if you pushsomeone down into the matt you lose a point, if you willing go down to the man in a exchange (claiming trippage) you get a point deducation. same fight saw refs calling the exact same things different.
