Comments Thread For: Bradley-Gavin Title Eliminator Talks Gain Momentum

Eddie Hearn of Matchroom has unleashed a steam train of speculation by revealing that Birmingham’s Frankie Gavin, 22-1 (13), could pursue an IBF eliminator against Tim Bradley.

The IBF called for a final eliminator between Amir Khan and Bradley earlier this week only for Khan to reject it, which left Gavin next in line for a showdown with the former world champion.

Hearn told iFilm London’s Kugan Cassius that the IBF option is an enticing one for Gavin.

“Amir pulled out of the fight so now it goes down the rankings to Frankie Gavin,” he said. “We have to let them (the IBF) know by Tuesday whether we want to accept that fight and are in negotiations with Top Rank about that fight. Obviously he's due to fight [Chris] van Heerden [in Birmingham on May 9], but this is a massive opportunity to fight Tim Bradley so we have to consider our position.”

He added: “Kell has nine months since his last mandatory, so they’ll probably call for it around November.” [Click Here To Read More]

    Bradley won't fight Gavin

Not enough money for him to fight him then take 15% to fight brook

Gavin is gonna fight brook soon

If Gavin fights Brook it has got to rank as one of the worst title defences in history Gavin couldn't even beat Bradley Skeete clearly. He is not even exciting at least Rios brings that the only thing Gavin has is he is British. Gavin-Brook is 10x worse the Algeri-Khan Brook-Dan was a more even match up. If this is PPV it will rival Audley-Haye for biggest farce ever. Lets just hope Bradley takes the eliminator and 12-0s Gavin.

        Rant over

Mismatch and makes no sense for Gavin. He can fight Brook as his voluntary, why would he fight the 3rd best Welterweight out there for the same opportunity?

Whatever, at least it is a WW vs. WW fight and Bradley needs to get back in the ring. Make it happen so he can beat the snot out of Gavin and on to the next.
