    What was the BKB crap?

Serious question...what was that? A circle, no rope, much smaller than an average ring, ****ty fights lol It seemed like a ****ty futuristic satire on what sports will look like in a 100 years. It looked like The Running man ffs.

    That was horrible.

Maybe I am in the minority but I really enjoyed the card. Consistent action, great presentation. Crowd was involved, commentators weren't bad. I ll most likely get the next ppv.

I would prefer a cage or ropes. That way no fighter would fall back and out of the circle because they are getting hit.

Personally I don't like it. It eliminates boxing skill. It goes against boxers who have the ability to use the whole ring to their advantage. Like Ropes, Corners, ring movement etc.

To me it looks like a desperate attempt to appeal to a UFC crowd by making boxing more like an MMA ring.

Chuck Norris started a fighting org awhile back called the WCL (World Combat League). It was a similar concept to BKB, a small circular ring with elevated sides. Fighters could not leave the circle and were even penalized for 'stalling'. It wasn't MMA, it was all stand-up. It lasted a few years before it went belly-up.

MMA rings/cages are much bigger than the BKB ring, and allow for fighters to use footwork and disengage, for example. I don't think BKB's plan is appeal to MMA fans. I think it's plan is to appeal to boxing fans who don't like 'runners'.

It was more entertaining than what PBC have given us so far.

LOL, that was my first thought when i watched it.

The idea is obviously to try to make it fan friendly to boxing casuals who don't understand the sport and just want to see knockouts.

The problem with this is that they're using decent fighters like Rosado and Stevens, and there is much less rounds than a boxing match. With guys using their boxing experience mixed with less rounds, it will make more fights go the distance as we saw last night, so the whole entertainment value and marketing angle of the knockout isn't even working.

It would be more entertaining if they were using worse boxers who have more chance of knocking each other out, but obviously they need names to bring in the money which then brings less entertaining action fights and more boxing, so it's a catch 22 situation. The whole thing is a gimmick and will never take off much.
