i read the article on this guy. he admitted to being undisciplined and alcoholic during his Olympic days. he told a story about his trainer locking him in his room to keep him from partying only for him to escape through the window. Smh this guy wasn't gonna be sh-t in boxing anyway.

and he should be thankful that he still has a place to live and is eating with no job, ungrateful bastard.

Yep, he's hanging onto a deluded excuse to explain his woes.

Yea yea excuses are like armpits, everyone has two and they all stink. You take responsibility for your decisions in life and stop b!tching about it.

Could have, would have, should have, means nothing. Maybe if you went into pro boxing you would have gotten your ass beat. You were like 30 when you "beat" floyd(19). Nothing to be proud of.

Shut the door on opportunity now he wishes a salesman would just pop up and offer him a restart in boxing?

              Oh well.

Someone in the NY post comments from his country commented. The reason why he didint accept the offer was for one, he was already likely being paid upwards of 30-50k for performining well, for two, he didint know the americans he was dealing with and to be honest, as an eastern european even though he had an interpeter he likely didint have rapport with the individuals in question.

Had he had lost, he likely woulnt have been paid as much and would have taken the american deal because hed be less focus on trying to get whatever bonus he would be getting for the gold medal (potential gold medal) he would have gotten. I really enjoyed the article and im a little suprised at the reaction in this thread

Also, where he is from there is alot of economic turmoil and very little oppurtunity, i cant help but feel for the guy to an extent.

Most of your posts are disgraceful. The full article from the New York Times was an excellent read.

Geez guyz, think some of you can make any more ignorant and biased comments about the guy? This is basically a human interest story from a regular paper. Would you rather he lie and say he's doing well... just to make your lame azziz happy? Some of you need to get your mind un-twisted.
