  • Comments Thread For: Carlos Cuadras Decisions Luis Concepcion To Retain

Unidad Deportiva Martín Alarcón, Metepec, México - Carlos Cuadras (32-0-1, 25KOs) retained his WBC super flyweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision over former beltholder Luis 'El Nica' Concepcion (32-3, 23KOs). The scores were 117-111, 117-111 and 118-110/

Concepcion had built up a pretty steady win streak since losing back to back fights, by knockout, in 2011 to Hernan 'Tyson' Marquez. After that loss, he won nine fights in a row including picking up the vacant WBC silver title last August with a seventh round knockout of Duvan Hernandez.

Cuadras and Kono are clearly a level or two below Inoue and Tete at 115. I'd HEAVILY favor both of them to beat Cuadras, and I'd probably favor Rungvisai in a rematch too.

Not too impressive since Concepcion is a much smaller guy who was originally a flyweight and who lost his prime in the beating he took vs Marquez.

Wow talk about a boxing clinic, Inoue's ass is grass if he ever steps in the ring with Cuadras.
