I definitely don't like how they get kd'd for tripping over the edge of the "pit" I mean it's an elevated surface of about 6 inches, anyone could just trip over that while maneuvering around the ring.

Yeah, that is a drawback. I would assume that fighters will get used to it the more often they fight in BKB. I do like the simple trunks the fighters wear, which seem to be BKB issue. And the hitchip replay is pretty cool.
