Could be a good strategy. he's doing the same thing Manny did. Fight "like opponents ". Now, his strategy backfired last time, turning down a fight hoping he got Mayweather. I'm not up on n his promotor, but for someone who in the past would fight anyone, this goes against his entire career.

British superstar Amir Khan has lashed out at the critics who jumped on him after he decided to pass over a domestic cracker with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook in favor of facing once-beaten Chris Algieri. After Brook's destruction last week of mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan in four rounds, the Sheffield fighter called for a June 13th showdown with Khan.

But yesterday Khan announced that he was going to face Algieri, likely in New York on May 30. Algieri is coming off a twelve round decision loss to Manny Pacquiao, who scored six knockdowns in the fight.

Algieri is a better opponent, but it was Brooks first opponent after being stabbed in the ****ing leg and it was also his mandatory so Khans talking out of his arse, he can try to justify it by saying Algieri is a better opponent that Brooks last opponent all he wants but that doesn't take away from the fact that Brook presented the fight to him and Khan decided to fight Algieri instead.

He's just praying for a big payday against Pac/May which he doesn't really deserve and hopes to get another payday against Brook afterwards (I know I'm stating the obvious), he's concerned that Brook could upset his chances of two good pay days instead of one.

Difference is brook was forced by the ibf to fight Dan. Khans not being forced by any1 to fight algieri. Used to be a Khan fan and think he beats brook but this is a pathetic fight to take and won't turn the heads of mayweather or pacquiao in Khans direction
