British superstar Amir Khan has lashed out at the critics who jumped on him after he decided to pass over a domestic cracker with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook in favor of facing once-beaten Chris Algieri. After Brook's destruction last week of mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan in four rounds, the Sheffield fighter called for a June 13th showdown with Khan.

But yesterday Khan announced that he was going to face Algieri, likely in New York on May 30. Algieri is coming off a twelve round decision loss to Manny Pacquiao, who scored six knockdowns in the fight.

Also, picking a "better opponent" doesn't mean anything. The guy you're trying to slate over his choice of opponent is trying to fight you and you won't fight him. What are you trying to win by saying your opponent is better? a moral victory because you're too scared to fight him and try to get a real victory?

Khan HAS been in with lions YEARS ago when he was still hot and up and coming, since he suffered his last two setbacks hes done nothing but take soft touches.. against light hitting fighters one after another, and hes much more cautious than he was on his rise, hes NOT the same Khan, hes no longer a gun, hes legit cherry picking and noone can argue otherwise, its fact that hes DUCKING Brook for whatever lame reason he has
