Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez Eyes Division Unification, Big Fights

Three-time world champion Roman Gonzalez makes his HBO debut on May 16th versus Edgar Sosa at the Forum in Inglewood, California, as the co-feature to Gennady Golovkin's bout against Willie Monroe Jr. Down the line both the network and 'Chocolatito' eye bigger and better things.

One of them could be a rematch with Juan Francisco Estarada, who currently holds the WBA and WBO flyweight belts. The two engaged in an entertaining battle in November of 2012 at the LA Sports Arena that was won by Gonzalez after twelve hard-fought rounds.

There's no way an Estrada doesn't come from this rematch.... unless they're asking for a million dollar split

Too bad HBO is just now picking him up. He could of unified the last two divisions he was in with their money pushing him.

Unification is the only way to make any real cash for these little uns & Gonzo/Estrada II would sell well. Other notables are Inoue/Cuadras, Yamanaka/Payano, Russell/Walters & Uchiyama/Miura II.
