What I wouldn't have a problem with is Cotto dropping the MW belt and going down to fight Canelo for a 154lb title, and the winner brings GGG down to 154.
GGG doesn't have to accept a catchweight, Cotto has to fight his mandatory at the weight limit or vacate, it's that simple really. The only reason Sergio fought Cotto at a catchweight was because he wanted that payday

And that where the WBC should step in and enforce their rules and not allow their belt to be held hostage.

Force Cotto to fight the mandatory at the required 160lbs or make him vacate. They shouldn't even allow a Canelo fight with the MW belt in tow, especially if it is required that the MW Champion fight the mandatory challenger next.

I'm a fan of Cotto, but this is BS!!!

Best case: Cotto drops the MW belt and fights Canelo - GGG fights ??? for the vacant MW belt.

        Canelo is next.
My thoughts exactly. The detractors need to chill and watch cotto handle HIS business. Did not cotto give the cheater margarito a shot? I also believe that cotto will give GGG a chance just like he did cheato.. but it will happen when he is ready. and just watch they just said the would fight him at a CW and if cotto win same excuses bla bla...

If Cotto beat GGG, the next excuse would be that he was ducking Kovalev it'll never end.

It was a good fight. Why is there so much hate on here for Cotto?

People is not the catch weight come on!! Its the man in the ring and the plan. Cotto did not loose to PAC because he was drained LOL Pac was better and had a better plan. Cotto didn't have shiet! Cotto will fight and will probably beat Canelo. And if he chooses to fight GGG then he will other wise he will vacate.

Don't confuse the discussion with hate, because that's not what it is.

Cotto is required to face his MANDATORY next, and that is GGG. Team Cotto is looking to bypass a GGG fight for Canelo at a catch-weight, which leaves the rightful MW challenger holding his **** in the meantime.

And that's not how its supposed to work!!

This win is more impressive of course than Canelo beating up glass chin Kirkland whos been washed up for a long time.

Cotto beats Canelo up. Even his brother almost did.
