Arum is stating a fact. It is that simple. It is what it is.

Most all over the world want Pacquiao to win. That doesn't mean it's going to happen but he's just easier to like. Mayweather has drawn the largest PPV numbers but by his own admission, it's people tuning to seem him lose.

Mayweather has a very strong appeal to a very small sub-pop. It's mostly inner city 12-16 year olds who believe they too will someday be super-wealthy. They honestly believe the value of a man is in his wealth, his materials, and his "swagger".

But money aside... let's pretend money no longer exists... who is the more complete person? Pacquiao is humble, thankful, non-boastfal, not flashy, educated (speaks and reads English better than everyone in his opponents camp), a pro. basketball player, and a dedicated politician in his home country. It isn't just white America, or brown America... it is all of America once they've grown out believing they're the next 50 Cent.

This shouldn't be surprising. I would think most every marquee fight Floyd has had in his career, more than 50% of American fans rooted against Mayweather. The entire "Money" persona has been crafted to be ****y, arrogant, and stand out from the pack. It's what makes him the most marketable man in this sport in addition to the 0 in his record. Manny has long enjoyed an overwhelming sense of support from US fans. So to say that more Americans will support Manny over Floyd seems obvious to me.
