I wish Roc Nation the best but even they couldn't have predicted the Al Haymon power move that was in motion. This is not the time for a newcomer to enter the promotional mix.

Haymon has a lot of mouths to feed but as long as he can keep them busy, I don't see how other companies can compete.

The days of Promoters taking 30% - 50% of fighters purses are almost numbered. The small advisory fee (I'm told around 10% - 15%) will be the new business model of boxings future.

          Boxers and Boxing fans win

On the other hand these promotional and network divides is going to reduce the amount of big fights that come into fruition.

Cross promotional fights have been fewer and fewer and it's only going to get worse now that they have exclusive networks as well.

Although its good that boxing is getting more exposure, at the same time it feels as if its also getting watered down. You have all these different networks showing fight now on different days and different times. Its disorganized. When its on HBO or Showtime you know that its going to be on a Sat evening. With networks like BET, Fox1, NBC, Spike TV, ESPN, ETC.. Its hard to keep track of who's showing what on what time/date.

That's not a bad thing. You used to be able to see world class boxers on weekend afternoons and Tuesday nights in addition to sat nights. There was a bigger pool of fighters then. more exposure should help.

What worked 30yrs ago may not work today. A lot has changed. People just don't sit home all day watching tv anymore. Especially on wknd afternoons.

I'm happy there's more fights being televised now. I just wish there was more organization to it. Its all over the place. Different promoters, different channels at different times on different days. This promoter wont work with that promoter. This guy cant fight that guy because they have exclusive contracts with their networks. Etc. Its one big jumbled mess.
